Title: Accidentally Married on Purpose (Love and Games #3)

Author: Rachel Harris

Publish Date: July 14th 2014

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

Synopsis:
One ring plus one wild night equals one crazy love
Sherry Robicheaux loves men. She loves love. And she loves an adventure. So when she meets a mysterious man while working backstage at a country music concert in Vegas, she’s all about what’s happened in Vegas staying there.

Country music superstar Tyler Blue just wants a weekend of anonymity…though there’s something about the spunky waitress with the streaks of purple hair that tempts him like no other. Until the next morning, when they both wake up with fuzzy memories…and rings on their fingers.

Convincing Sherry to maintain the ruse for his public image isn’t the hardest part—it’s reminding himself that their time spent playing husband and wife in her small town of Magnolia Springs can’t last. Tyler’s first love will always be music—and the road is no place for a sweet downhome girl.

Review:
Holy shucks. I adored this book. You don't understand how much I adored this book. It's been about two moths since I've read a book like this that kept me smiling the whole way through. Heck, I'm even smiling while I'm writing this!

The setting is southern, which speaks to me because I live in the southern states and the southern feel of it was very much evident. While reading, I WAS in Louisiana, even though I wasn't. A book that captures you and places you somewhere else is worth reading.

The characters. Aw man, the characters. I just wanted to gather them all up and give them the biggest bear hug and them make them all kiss their partner passionately ("Now kiss").

A lot of family moments are involved, which made me happy like a maniac because then we see Sherry's family, and if you don't know who they are then you may want to read the other two books in the series soon and find out (however, this book can be read as a stand alone!).

Sherry. Gosh. It's like Rachel spent the weekend with me fishing and some how she saw all my characteristics and insecurities. I'm not saying that Sherry is me but she sure is dang relatable. And those are the best characters to read about. Y'all are going to love her.

Tyler. Golly man, I want someone like him. THE POST ITS AND THE DANG DOG AND YOU'RE FUDGING PASSION. Just stop making yourself hot dang it! Sherry, you are one lucky gal. Anyways, Tyler is not what you expect. When I started this book, my mind was set on what kind of character he was and let's just say that it wasn't a nice mind set. But continuing on with this book, Tyler stole my heart.

Okay, I get really excited when there are dual perspectives in books, especially in romance novels. I don't know why but I absolutely love it. Instead of being trapped in one person's thoughts, you're trapped in two! And that's fun... and frustrating, especially when the characters are being stubborn about their feelings but you'll know eventually they'll get through there thoughts and trust their instincts.

I love these kinds of story lines, and the synopsis does not do this book justice, though the title does, which is what actually urged me to request this book.

Accidentally Married on Purpose is cute as heck. I adore it, you'll most likely adore it, so I don't know what's stopping you from buying this book. Grab it and then come talk to me.

Psalm 51:12

P.S. 1) The cover is fudging adorable. 2) I need Charlie's story, I don't care how short it is. 3) My name was in the book! Well... sort of. It was just missing one letter, but that's the closet I've been to reading my name. So I was jumping up and down about that fact.

UPDATE: So while I was rereading bits and pieces of AMoP (yes... I adored it that much), a thought came to me that I've had since I first read this book. On NetGalley and Goodreads this book is listed as a Romance (which I don't mind), and an Adult novel. So diving into this book, I felt a little weird that I was sort of reading one of my mom's novels. But boy did that thought quickly change. Yes, it can be considered an adult novel, but I feel as if it could be read under the NA genre as well.

Here's two reasons why:
1) Sherry and Tyler are still finding themselves even though it may seem they've found themselves already. 2) This is how an NA novel should be expressed. Chelsea Fine recently posted about the NA genre (if you haven't read it click HERE). She talks about the sex content in NA novels and I totally agree with her. This book is a perfect example of what an NA could be about. Sex is involved in the story line and has a turn in the plot, but instead of the graphic scene one suspects from reading a majority of NA books recently, the scene is mentioned but not "shown", and that felt exhilarating. BECAUSE IT WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND REFRESHING.
And once again I urge you to grab this book and hold on tight.

Review:
"I can't change it now, but learning to let go isn't easy."
As soon as I received the email that held this ARC, I was jumping off all the walls. I loved When It Rains and there's no exception with this book. The prologue with grab you and the rest of the book will never let you go.
"It feels like I'm everywhere she is, or maybe she's everywhere I am."
Drake Chamber is freaking HOT and golly man I couldn't get enough of him. In the beginning, he's the average guy that I'd most likely hat, but boy does he grow on you, and I mean REALLY grow. there's one scene where I just fell in love with him. And then there's another where you feel nothing but pain. But don't let that stop you from grabbing this book.
"Usually, I'd be happy to walk away, but this time I don't want to."
Emery will have at least one of your characteristics. And that the best thing about her, she's relatable. All of her action's have a meaning, as well as Drake's actions.
"The past is something I can't change."
I'm telling you, you do not want to miss out on this book. It's a relaxing adventure , but I will admit some pain will be involved.
"Just do me a favor... whatever you do, wherever you end up, make sure you're happy."

Tell us about your jersey #. Is it significant to you and why? If you had the chance to change it, would you?

I started playing football when I was in elementary school. The team was called the Hawks – a play on Hawkeyes I think. Anyway, my number then was twelve. It was the only number my dad ever watched me play in, and he’s the reason I played as long as I did. A part of me thought he’d still see me play as long as I still wore #12.
In middle school and high school, I didn’t have much competition so they gave me twelve. Going into college, I let my potential schools know how important it was for me to keep it. It all worked out which was good because that’s the only number I could ever play in.

Rush Me by Allison Parr

"Even with the lows, there are all those highs. And isn't that better than a life of mediocrity."
Title: Rush Me

Author: Allison Parr

Publish Date: April 8th 2014

Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Synopsis:
When post-grad Rachael Hamilton accidentally gate-crashes a pro-athlete party, she ends up face-to-face with Ryan Carter, the NFL's most beloved quarterback.
While most girls would be thrilled to meet the attractive young millionaire, Rachael would rather spend time with books than at sporting events, and she has more important things to worry about than romance. Like her parents pressuring her to leave her unpaid publishing internship for law school.
But when Ryan's rookie teammate attaches himself to Rachael, she ends up cohosting Friday-night dinners for half a dozen football players.
Over pancake brunches, charity galas and Alexander the Great, Rachael realizes all the judgments she'd made about Ryan are wrong. But how can a Midwestern Irish-Catholic jock with commitment problems and an artsy, gun-shy Jewish New Englander ever forge a partnership? Rachael must let down her barriers if she wants real love—even if that opens her up to pain that could send her back into her emotional shell forever.

Review:
"This was awkward. Was I awkward, or the situation? Probably both."
Rush Me is full of adorableness and such frustration! But I have to say the adorableness beats the frustration. Okay, I have to say the love of football was why Rush Me was recommended to me and thank goodness it was! But then I met EVA and just THEATRE... I loved it so much more. (I really do love theatre.)
"It should be illegal for jackasses to be that gorgeous."
All the side characters were intriguing. I wanted to know more about their story (which is why I'm beyond glad that there are two other books in this series!) All the players are caring and inviting which in the beginning I thought was weird but really grew to love because it showed that these players cared about friends. Gah I just loved them.
"Fantastic. I was officially in lust with a guy I despised."
Ryan. Ryan, man, I loved him. Rachel, well her mind was a whirlwind that you couldn't help but laugh about. The banter when it didn't go to extremes was cute. Them together was cute!
"You spend too much time in theatre-land."
The story was funny, endearing, and interesting. It was fast paced though it does take a certain interest to get into. But if you love the HEA romance then its a shoe in that you can get into this book.
"It was damn unfair, the things beautiful people could get away with. It made them dangerous."
Read it for it's adorable and quick.

What's on my hook (or atleast will be in two days)!

Wednesday, June 25, 2014 0 Comments A + a -

SOOOOOOO.... I've decided that for this new Crochet with Books idea to do something different.

First off, I bought some paint -->

Along with some white yarn that I began to unravel...                            <--

And I decided to mix the two...
and let it dry... and hopefully it will be dry within the next couple of days! (I've never done this before and it was a blast!)
So you might be wondering what this is for and as I've said before, this is for a Crochet with books project, however since the cover hasn't been released yet I'm not able to show y'all what it looks like... HECK I don't even know what it looks like. All I've been told is that these are the main colors and, for now, I'm content with that much info. Hopefully by the time I'm done with this particular project, the cover will be released and we can compare the cover and my project.

Off to get a blow dryer to speed up the drying process

P.S. I don't think I stated this, but this is for Make It Right, the second Bowler University book by Megan Erickson
P.P.S. (HAHAHA "pp". Ignore me.) Megan is pretty darn awesome. And I'm beyond excited to see the cover and finish the project.

UPDATE: HERE IS THE COVER

Awwwwe man. I'm so happy the colors match so well. And isn't it just fudging adorable.

Title: Make It Right

Author: Megan Erickson

Publish Date: September 9th 2014

Synopsis: Max Payton lives by two rules:
Size and strength win any fight, and never show weakness.

When a rash of assaults sends Bowler University for a tail spin, Max volunteers to help teach a self-defense class. One of the other instructors is the beautiful pixie-faced girl he keeps butting heads with…and who challenges everything he thought he knew.

Lea Travers avoids guys like Max - cocky jocks who assume she's fragile because of a disability caused by a childhood accident. She likes to be in control, and something about being with Max makes her feel anything but. But during the moments he lets his guard down, Lea sees a soul as broken inside as she is outside. Trusting him is a whole other problem...

When the assaults ramp up and hit close to home, Lea and Max must learn, before it’s too late, that true strength can come from vulnerability…and giving in to trust is sometimes the only way to make things right.

Why do I want to read this beauty?
1) Lea is bad butt and we have many things in common (mainly martial arts)
2)  I FREAKING LOVE MAX. If you've read Make It Count, you'd probably think I'm stupid because Max is a jerkbutt, but I believe he can be redeemed.
3) I'm ready for some laugh out loud moments as much as I am ready for the serious ones.
4) I've been eagerly waiting for this one since I've read the synopsis after finishing MiC.

Waiting for more books

Review:
"Perhaps the world would never be perfect, perhaps somethings would never be right, but maybe she stood a chance of finding her own sort of peace and freedom."
HOLY MOTHER OF ALL SHUCKS. Sarah has done it again. She riped my heart open and did surgery on it without giving me anesthesia, but it was the best pain ever.
"The king sent me to kill you."
This story is one heck of a roller coaster. Seriously, one moment you're having the time of you're life and having a blast and not even ten seconds later Sarah swoops and and kills your joy. But she is the best mood killer in the world.
"He'd loved her enough to risk everything - to give up everything."
The setting is still as riveting as the first book and as the novellas. You are so engrossed in the stroy you have no idea of what going on around you. (Trust me, I walked into a wall because of this beauty. And I'm a pretty decent walker/reader so it's a rarity when this happens.) The character. OH GOSH THE CHARACTERS ARE SO MADDENINGLY, BEAUTIFUL AND CRAZY. You won't ever get enough of them.
"The best lies were always mixed with truth."
I don't know what to tell y'all other than to pick up Throne of Glass, if you haven't already, and jump into this series. However, be ready for some serious pain. Be prepared to have some tissues and comfort food on the side. You're gonna need it like no one's business.

So after seeing my Insurgent market bag, my mom wanted on for herself. She is in love with anything blue. So when I went to Hobby Lobby I pretty much bought blue, not basing it off anything. And I worked on the bag and finished it, added a lining on the inside and thought I was done. And I was. It was just a present for my mom and nothing else. BUT when i was organizing my bookshelf I came upon this cover-->
and it matched perfectly with the bag.
(If you have not read the Shatter Me trilogy. You need to hope on that train.)
So here is my mom's present that turned out to be a Crochet with Books project!

Hope y'all like it!

I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I whispered as I took a step back. My back hit the wall, but he continued to step closer. He stopped right in front of me and rested his hands on the wall next to my head so that he caged me in.

“You’re a terrible liar, Claire. Even now, you want me. Your pupils are dilated and your breathing is uneven. You know what I can do and you want it. You want to be the one on my bed with my head buried between your legs.” He leaned closer so that his lips touched my ear. “All you have to do is ask. I promise you’ll be screaming when I’m done with you.”

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Thursday, June 19, 2014 0 Comments A + a -

Title: City of Heavenly Fire

Author: Cassandra Clare

Published Date: May 27th 2014

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

Synopsis: Darkness has descended on the Shadowhunter world. Chaos and destruction overwhelm the Nephilim as Clary, Jace, Simon, and their friends band together to fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary's own brother. Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell. Nothing in this world can defeat Sebastian-but if they journey to the realm of demons, they just might have a chance... Lives will be lost, love sacrificed, and the whole world will change. Who will survive the explosive sixth and final installment of the Mortal Instruments series?

Review: Shucks man. I don't know what to say. Well, I guess I can say goodbye. Goodbye, The Mortal Instruments, you have been with me for the last seven years, and I can say that seeing you every year since then was filled with dread and happiness. Dread, well, because Cassandra really knows how to kill the spirit. Happiness, because I could see a few of my favorite characters embark on a new adventure almost every year. When I found out that there was going to be an installment after City of Glass, I was the happiest teenager that there could ever be. And each book that was released was awesome and dreadful, and emotional. Boy was this ride emotional. And what makes it the most emotional is that it's over. Guys, after seven years TMI is finally over.

Yeah, I know there's TDA (The Dark Artifices) but they'll focus on different characters and not the ones I've grown up with. While reading TDA, I'd be living for every moment that I see the "original" characters. Don't git me wrong. I'm [insert F word] terrified of TDA. I know what the main plot is but goddang it the way Cassandra left it off in this book, is scaring me poopless.

My emotions toward this book were not as hectic as The Infernal Devices series. Last year, when I had Clockwork Princess in my hands, I will tell you that I cried, for many reasons. Receiving CoHF, I felt numb. I didn't cry, I just stared at the book knowing that it held the end. And boy did it hold it.

There were many points in this book that were predictable, but when isn't a book predictable. BUT there were points were I was shocked beyond recognition, and those were the moments that I was dreading because I KNEW THEY'D CAUSE PAIN. And I enjoyed it. The pain was worth it. There were question that were answered and some that were brought up because of the book that I hope will be answered in TDA or in some way TLH.

All in all, this book was great. It was a goodbye to these characters, as well as it was to us. And I will miss them, like no other.

Ave Atque Vale

Romans 13:10

P.S. *I don't cuss but this needs to be out there* I AM NOT F*CKING READY FOR TDA. HOLY SHUCKS JULES WILL BE THE F8CKING DEATH OF ME. Again I'm sorry but gah i'm not even close to being ready. At least I have one year to prepare.
