Zack
Oh gosh. I forgot how much I loved this series and this world. Getting back into the Cold Fury series was a blast and I enjoyed every minute.
Zack and Kate went from freaking adorable to all out steam and holy lord it was gorgeous. From the prologue, I was hooked onto Zack's mind. I felt how he felt, and understood where he was coming from. It's not often that I understand the male character so it was really refreshing to find one where I had a connection.
You see, Zack's situation in not that unique. Since the death of his son's mom, all he felt was guilt, and at one point or another we all felt guilt. For the lucky ones they're able to forgive themselves, but for the others it sometimes takes over our lives and we can't function without feeling despair. And unfortunately, the latter describes Zack's situation. He feels nothing but guilt, and when his body and mind finally gets a reaction other than remorse he doesn't know how to handle it. So he puts up walls and traps himself in it thinking they'll stand forever.

Thankfully Kate was persistent in her goal to liven up Zack's life. What I loved about Kate was that she took her job as a nanny seriously. Her focus was on Ben and it never wavered, though her focus grew bigger when she decided to involve Zack into it. Her goal was to make them smile, laugh and enjoy life and she succeeded.
Zack and Kate together were interesting to say the least. It seemed as if Zack was in an unknown territory while Kate knew what she was getting into. She knew her limits and knew when to stop, Zack not so much. Zack kind of used Kate as a clutch, and Kate let him because that seemed like the only way to make him enjoy life. And from then on I knew this was going to go down hill. Thankfully we had a lot of funny before everything hit the fan, but in books as in in real life, it was bound to happen. Everyone has to face their problem and defeat it, and though it takes Zack awhile he finally does.
Zack (the book not the character) was AMAZING. The emotions were real, the tension was thick, and the relationships were endearing. This book was a blast to read and I can't wait to read the rest of the series once the books release.
If you haven't read this series, you NEED to. Why even think about turning down hot hockey players???
With more books to be read
