Title: Changeling’s Crown

Author: Juli D. Revezzo

Published Date: June 2014

Synopsis:
When Ianthe began her career as a faery godmother, she stumbled so badly that Snow White will probably never speak to her again. After a long suspension, she’s finally been given a chance to redeem herself…but everything on this latest assignment is going wrong.

But why?

Worse, she definitely doesn’t need an attractive mortal man distracting her from her duties. Of course, needs and wants are two different things.

Briak has had his eye on Ianthe for a very, very long time, but he’s been waiting for just the right moment to make his move. Despite the fact all hell’s about to break loose on his watch, he can’t resist the opportunity to insert himself into her earthly assignment. Can he convince Ianthe of her true calling and thereby win her heart? Or will his subterfuge ultimately cost him her love?

***Excerpt***

Sunlight filtered into the office, tinkling musically as it bounced off a globe standing to the far side of the room. A lone dust mote floated through the air to fall onto the crystalline floorboards and as it hit, Ianthe Hypericum cringed when she heard it clack against the floor, like the tinny clap of an iron breakfast bell. Normally the sound didn’t bother her. Normally she found it lovely.
Not today.
Nervous sweat ran down Ianthe’s back as she awaited her latest assignment. Maybe the Faery Godmother High Council hadn’t changed their decision. Maybe Ms. Siabelle had called her in to revoke her wand for good.
Why wouldn’t she? After all, so many of her recent assignments had ended in disaster. The High Council frowned upon her performance even before Snow White’s daughter had run off with that traveling band of thieves. Ianthe still couldn’t quite figure out how it had happened. She’d spent nearly fourteen hundred years on probation for it. How it hadn’t driven her crazy enough to join those in the dark side of the groves, she had no idea. It’d been a close call.
Some faery godmother she’d turned out to be! She didn’t want to think what might happen if she blew another assignment. They’d turn her out, maybe send her to the shoemaker’s shop as punishment, and she didn’t want that. Everyone knew the shoemaker’s shop was a dungeon compared to the human world.
What a disgrace for her family, if the council banished her there! They were having a hard enough time, socially, dealing with her failure with the Snow White family. Banishment would undo them. She had to succeed at this assignment, she just had to!
The door opened and an older woman, wearing a gray Armani suit, stepped through.
Ianthe stood and curtseyed, her lilac taffeta skirt rustling. “Good morning, Ms. Siabelle.”
The old woman pushed her glasses up her pert nose with a thick finger. “Ah, Ianthe. I see you’re on time, for once.” She scuttled around the huge oak desk like an overweight crab.
Ianthe folded her hands in her lap, twisting her fingers as she waited for her boss to settle down.
“I trust all is well.”
“Yes, ma’am,” she said. “The Smith-Weiss affair’s all cleaned up.”
“They’re happy, then?” Ms. Siabelle asked.
Ianthe bit her lip. Hard. No, she wouldn’t say the couple was happy. Not unless the faery godparent council had changed its definition of single parent households. Still, she made her report on her latest assignment. “The couple is—April is…Chuck will be—” She blew out a deep breath. “They’ll get there. Plenty of babies grow up without their fathers. It’s for the best.”
“Is it?”
“April Smith and Charles Weiss weren’t made for each other, no matter how much we wish it.” She frowned at the old faery godmother. “You knew there were problems going into that assignment.”
Ms. Siabelle remained quiet in the face of Ianthe’s accusation. She twitched the platinum chain on her glasses and turned her attention to her computer. “Yes, well, that isn’t the issue today.” Adjusting her glasses to her liking, she turned her head, gaze softening as she peered at Ianthe.
Ianthe could feel a million tiny lightning bolts trying to find their way into her heart. She could barely breathe under the elderly overseer’s gaze and she begged the faery gods to be on her side, just this once.
Ms. Siabelle cleared her throat.
Here it came. Ianthe tried not to cringe.
“The Faery Godparent High Council has decided to give you another chance, child.”
She blinked. “Say that again?” Unbelievable!
“I said we’ve decided in your favor.” Ms. Siabelle turned in her chair, and standing, crossed the room to a tall filing cabinet. Batting away a stray sunbeam, she wrapped old fingers around the silver handle gracing the top drawer, tugged it open, and drew a finger in the air above the files. They flipped by themselves, one after another, as if she pulled them. But she held her finger too high. “If the couple can’t make a go of it even after what you’ve done, it’s not your fault.”
“I did try.”
“I told the council so. Ah, here we are.” She stepped back as one file slid free. It spun in the air before her a moment, then Ms. Siabelle reached out and took hold of the thin folder. Ianthe wrung her hands as Ms. Siabelle sat back down and began to read. “Hmm... It says here that you’re to be assigned to a young man.” Her brow rose. “And his soon-to-be ex-wife.”
Ianthe sat up straighter. A divorce? Oh, no. More battles over the children. She found being saddled with the choice of which parent would be best heartbreaking. “Surely you must be mistaken. Isn’t there some forlorn lover I can look after instead?” This guy was probably as ugly as the frog prince, while the wife, well… she’d met some doozies!
“No, the assignment is quite clear. You’re to assist Randall and Mallory Davies.” Ms. Siabelle shut the gleaming folder and folded her hands atop it. “According to their files, it’s a clear case. Randall’s not sure he wants the divorce and Mallory—well, I don’t see why she couldn’t be persuaded to drop the case. Should be a piece of cake, as they say down there.”
She’d said that about Snow White’s daughter, but Ianthe thought better of reminding her. “I’m not sure.”
“Are you saying you don’t want the assignment, my dear? I thought you hoped for a chance to get your wand and title back.” Her nose twitched. “And everything else that goes with it. Coaches and ball gowns and such.”
All of which had gone out of style with the age of classic faery tales. Right now, Ianthe didn’t feel like contradicting her. “I do, ma’am. It’s just that—”
“Good. I’ll see the paperwork’s sent through; meanwhile—” She wiggled her finger over the file and it rose from the desktop, floating like a bird into Ianthe’s less than eager hands. “Why don’t you get started?” She shook her head sadly. “Seems Randall and Mallory are in dire need of a happy ending, as you’ll see.”
Ianthe sighed. The pages flipped open before her, and she took in the photographs. Randall, his employees. One stood out: a man with a handsome angular face, tousled brown hair, and deep, coffee-colored eyes.
She leaned forward to study the picture, wondering who he was. Too handsome to ignore, she thought. Was he the reason for the couple’s troubles? She could see that being the case.
Maybe this assignment wasn’t going to be so bad, after all.
She shoved the file into her oversized purse and exited the office to take to the hall, a renewed confidence in her gait. She could do this. Surely, she would finally live down that fiasco of an assignment with Snow White’s daughter. Maybe it would even garner her a promotion. Full Godmotherhood!
Dare she dream?
She was already daydreaming for she plowed right into an oncoming faery.
She blinked at him. Geldon P. Techsmauch.
“I’m sorry, Geldon. I didn’t see you,” she said.
Son of a goblin, how she hated him! She stepped back, hoping to escape him as soon as possible.
“Why don’t you watch where you’re going?” he snarled.
When she stepped around him he planted his right hand against the wall, blocking her escape. “Where do you think you’re rushing off to in such a hurry?” he asked. “You can’t have a princess awaiting you. You’re on probation after all. Or are you late for a class? Beginning wand construction one-oh-one?”
How’m I supposed to go anywhere with you in my way, you horsefly’s butt? What was he doing, besides being a nuisance? “I said I’m sorry.” She tried not to snarl back, but it was hard. She tapped a finger to her lips. “Didn’t I hear you just came back from Desire Island? How’d that go?”
His mud brown eyes narrowed. “You heard wrong. It was Devil’s Island.”
“Ah.” She nodded. “My mistake.”
“Yes, you make many.” He turned on his heel. “So, I see you have more studying to do. Good luck with it, Hypericum. You’ll need it.”
Ianthe’s fists clenched and she wanted to stamp her foot against the citrine floor tiles, but the sound would reverberate through them as if she’d shattered a glass wall and tell the whole kingdom how angry she was. The nerve of Techsmauch! He was such an ass! Why did he constantly make her life a living hell? She didn’t want to run the risk of meeting up with him again tonight. So she turned back the way she’d come. She’d take the sub-elevators down to the Earth level if she had to in order to avoid facing him again.
A wrinkly, gray skinned goblin met her at the elevator and beckoned her inside. It was stuffed full of trolls. Many smelled as if they needed a nice, long bath. No one would ever catch Techsmauch dead in a sub-elevator so it seemed the best way to avoid him.
She sniffed once or twice and wrinkled her nose at the smell. The doors closed and she slowly released her breath. Afraid to inhale, she wondered how long it would take to reach Earth level. Don’t worry. We’ll arrive before you pass out from the trolls’ stench. She hoped.
All she could think about was the shower she’d take once on Earth. She’d have to freshen up if she wanted to get close to her assignment. Troll-stench was known to drive away any and all who came near. That was no way to begin this assignment.
She checked her purse, pulling forth the file Ms. Siabelle had given her. She could swear she’d seen that employee before, but where?
Briak. The name sounded familiar, but she couldn’t place it. Was it possible she had the name incorrect? Maybe the k constituted a typo. The name niggled in a way she didn’t like, but he looked so kind. Had she ever helped him? Or someone in his family?
Maybe I’m mistaken. How many handsome ranch hands were there in Clover Glen, Florida, after all?

Review:
I've had this book in my kindle for quite some time. I've wanted to read it for the longest time, but real world obligations and projects would take up my time. BUT NOT THIS TIME. I made time for this book because I thought it was due time for me to read it. And boy am I glad I did. (holy shucks, I said "time" like 10 times. *laughing hysterically* Sorry about that).

It's actually a really quick read, you could possible finish it with two to three days with many breaks, but for me I finished it in one day; that's how much I was immersed in these characters. I wanted to know what would happen next after every point of view shift. I wanted to know everything.

As soon as I started this book, it felt different. There was a different atmosphere while I was reading. It felt like there was a cloud covering my head and everything was silenced. I knew how Logan felt everywhere he went. I was one with him. And then it was different from what I've read because Logan's mind is free to roam and it's real. I'm not saying I know what guys thinks because I don't but I'm pretty sure Logan is a perfect example of guys thoughts.

Kit. HOW DID I KNOW YOU WERE GOING TO DO THAT. I just want to hug you and never let you go. You're heart is all out for the taking, even when you're adamant about who you let in. Every action that you did was selfless or for survival. You were stubborn in the way's you'd get things done and I admire you for that.

The Reed brothers. Why are y'all so endearing and fictional?! I wish to met y'all or at least see y'all from afar and just witness the love that flows through y'all for each other.

Tall, Tatted, and Tempting is something different mixed with fun and all consuming love and if you're looking for that then you're going to want to pick this up.

Rating: 4/5 Stars

Children's librarian by day. Romance novelist by night.
British single father.
Someone else is writing this love story...

Blair Walton isn't your average curvaceous tattooed children's librarian. She's also one half of bestselling romance author, Scarlet Rose. That's why she and Raine write in secret.

On deadline for their latest book and out of ideas, Raine suggests (demands) that Blair find a guy and "do some research". Declan Bennet has all the qualifications: He's British, looks fabulous in a suit, has glorious blue eyes and gets bonus points for being an amazing single dad to his adorable son, Drake. But what starts out as a research project quickly turns into something much more. And Blair's not the only one with secrets.

Review:
I went into this book blind, not having read the synopsis but knowing that I loved  Chelsea's past work was enough for me to want to read it. And the first thing I thought when I saw the cover: this feels depressing and mysterious lets do this. First thought when starting: "Well that's an interesting way to start"....[continues reading without getting any form of sleep till she's done]. Yup you read that right. I was stupid (or smart?) and started this book at midnight and didn't go to sleep till I turned the last page, that's how "interesting" it was. And my face is sore from all the smiling that I was doing throughout this book.

I was dead tired but didn't feel like sleeping and so I picked this book up, but it was like this book was coffee for me. Every word I read woke me up and before I knew it the sun was showing it's ugly face and the last page was upon me. The words just flowed and I was so immersed in Blair's world I wasn't even aware of mine. And the books that do that to the reader are worth losing sleep over.

Blair and Raine's relationship reminded me so much of my friends and I. It was crazy how spot on they were. A lot of friendship seem "fake" in some books I've read but that's not the case here. Raine and Blair know their boundaries as well as know when they should push a subject. They are that friendship that you immediately know they were meant to be friends. And oh gosh, I so want to get into Raine's head.

Holy mother of pearl. I fell in love with two boys in less than 21 pages (at least that's what it said on my iPad). From a little prince charming to a big one. They were so darn cute, with their darn matching outfits and cute faces. And holy maple fudge is Declan something else. I don't know what I was expecting, but he sure wasn't it. Fair warning: be prepared for some *fanning self* and dreamy sighs while reading this.

Blair. If she isn't an inspiration for body figure and doing what you want to do in your life, I don't know what is. She's shy but boy does she take action. She fiesty, witty, passionate, and caring while giving no cares in the world. Everything about her made me love her and want to be like her in my life.

I can say praises all I want but y'all really need to grab this book for y'all selves and enjoy the ride, because it's a fun one.

P.S. POP CULTURE REFERENCES ARE GOLD. And the amount of words I have highlighted is waaaaaayyy too much, I might as well have highlighted the whole book. Man I loved it. Drake's attitude toward his nanny reminded me so much of this kid.

Review:
*ARC provided by publisher for honest review*

I greatly enjoyed this read. I don't know what I was expecting but it surely wasn't this.

I received an ARC and thought I might as well read it. Then I saw the # of pages and thought well this just might be really cheesy and the pacing would be off, but I still gave it a go. THANK GOODNESS I DID.

So even though there are about 200 pages in this book nothing is left out. You jump right it to the freezing pool, and you get used to it temperature, rather quickly. The way the characters and the whole story is set up is really interesting. And the pacing was impressive given the page limit. It just goes to show how really good writing has no boundaries.

Now, Trace. Holy hot dang. There were so many times where I just wanted to hug you and help you with your search. And GAH your stubbornness, I just wanted to knock some sense into you so that you could go on with you life with your Cinderella!

Marlena. Dang, if only I were half as smart as you. I have to give you props. There are not a lot of female's out there that do what you do, let alone in the engineering department (I'm one of the few). So with your story I could relate, not totally but I could, especially what Brian would say to you. I understood where you were coming from, because I come from a similar situation. You're an inspiration because you stood up for yourself and grabbed what you thought would benefit you. Not many people do that, they go for the easy route, but not you. I just loved everything about your character. Nothing but praise from here.

The chemistry between the two of them was such fluff. I loved it. They're meant for each other, but too stubborn to realize, which makes them a cuteness that is frustrating to no end. Their banter is witty and funny as heck.(I was living for those moments). And everything about them was HOT.

This story was so good. GAH I couldn't get enough of it! I want more! Thank goodness it's part of a series of standalones.

Finding Dandelion by Lex Martin

Title: Finding Dandelion

Author: Lex Martin

Publish Date: July 11th 2014

Rating: FIVE GOLDEN STARS

Synopsis: When soccer all-star Jax Avery collides with Dani Hart on his twenty-first birthday, their connection is instantaneous and explosive. For the first time in years, Jax isn’t interested in his usual hit-it and quit-it approach.

But Dani knows better. Allowing herself a night to be carefree and feel the intensity of their attraction won’t change anything when it comes to dealing with a player. So when Jax doesn’t recognize Dani the next time he sees her, it shouldn’t be a total shock. The fact that he’s her new roommate's brother? That’s a shock.

Dani doesn’t regret that night with Jax, just the need to lie about it. Since her roommate has made it clear what she thinks about her brother’s “type” of girl, the last thing Dani wants is to admit what happened.

Jax knows he’s walking a fine line on the soccer team. One more misstep and he’s off the roster, his plans to go pro be damned. Except he can’t seem to care. About anything… except for the one girl who keeps invading his dreams.

Despite Jax’s fuzzy memory of his hot hookup with his sister’s friend, he can’t stay away from her, even if it means breaking his own rules. But there are bigger forces at work–realities that can end Dani’s college career and lies that can tear them apart.

Jax realizes what he’s losing if Dani walks away, but will he sacrifice his future to be with her? And will she let him if he does?

Review
I was blown away by this book. Completely blown away. I had an idea of what I was going to get into BUT I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS GOING TO GET INTO. Because holy shucks. I don't know what to say other than that I was amazed by this beauty.

To the people who have read Dearest Clementine: prepare your feels because Finding Dandelion is a whole other atmosphere. To the people who haven't read Dearest: be ready to enjoy this book like no other.

Yes this can be read as a stand alone, though I do suggest that you read Dearest Clementine first. The main reason being that you're introduced to these characters and kind of have an inkling of who they are, especially Jax. With Dani, in Dearest, you fall in love with her for her geekyness and funny one liners, but there's more to her.

Jax. The bad/good guy that everyone wants (especially me). Dang is he a pill, and a very big one at that (take that however way you want). His character motives are vague, but eventually become clear, and finally the missing piece turns up. You understand where he's coming from and you feel for him. Boy, do you feel for him. His problems are not rich boy problem, well they are, but you have to read his side. The main concept is that the problem has one foundation, and that's betrayal. And I know everyone has gone through that one way or another. That is what makes Jax 3D rather than 2D, what makes him relatable and a considered human rather than just a character in a book that's hot.

Now Dani. I loved her from the very beginning. Her personality and character development was amazing. Now, the development wasn't subtle, it sort of whacks you in the face. But the thing is, in normal circumstances that would usually be considered as poor writing, but in this case, that doesn't apply here because the reason is very valid. But you're going to have to find that reason out for yourself.

Holy shucks. Put these two in a room alone and be ready to be put into one of the nine pits of hell, because they are scorching hot with a little bit of cool every once in a while. The best thing about their relationship is probably the innocence and the hesitation, that probably doesn't make sense to some of you and if it doesn't you'll just have to read and see (I think that's like my third time doing that, sorry).

I honestly can't stop raving over this book. I've told all my friends, some family members, I even recommended it to a person I met at the library. I can't spread the word fast enough. Trust me when I say, you don't want to miss out on this journey.

Impatiently waiting for Daren's book

Synopsis:
Burying Water
The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.

Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn't know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. FLUFF. FLUFF. FLUFF AND SOME MORE FLUFF. GAH this book was mountains of adorableness. I found myself squeeling at how cute these main characters were. Just GAH. Adorable.

Okay now that I'm done with that here's  the actual review.

Again. ANOTHER SHORT BOOK THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO END. These short books are going to be the death of me. But GAH I love them so much, especially the ones that are written this well.
Naomi's emotions were on her sleeve. You saw every emotion she was going through if you paid attention, and Aaron paid attention. She had no secrets. She was willing to tell you anything and be straight about it. And the same goes for Aaron. Though he liked to think that he hid his emotion well, they were just as obvious.

This is like Christmas Carol meets romance story. And it is so adorably cute. The characters interact and fit so well together. You don't want to leave this happy state that this books puts you in. I want more.

Why isn't it Christmas yet?!

So this is going to be a bit long post because two covers are being revealed today! WOOHOO so without further ado...

Cover Reveal #1

Synopsis:
Knox Jagger. The name inspires resent in every male at Sinclair University, want in every female, and contempt in Charlie Chase.
Charlie can be summed up in three words: independent, independent, and independent. To Charlie, Knox epitomizes everything that’s wrong with college males: prolific one-night stands, drunken senseless fights, and a body that hints at prioritizing gym time over study time.
As an up-and-coming writer for Sinclair University’s newspaper, Charlie’s tasked with getting to the bottom of who’s been dropping little white pills into girls’ drinks at parties. In an ocean of All-American boys sporting polo shirts and innocent smiles, Knox is the obvious suspect. As evidence piles up against the bad boy of Sinclair, Charlie becomes more and more certain it isn’t Knox. But when her drink is dosed at a party and she wakes up on Knox’s couch the next morning, Charlie’s left with more questions than answers when it comes to Knox Jagger.
How can Charlie ever hope to uncover the truth behind a guy so closed off he’s become . . .

Hard Knox.

I’m the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the CRASH series (HarperTeen, S&S UK), LOST & FOUND series, UP IN FLAMES (S&S UK), The EDEN TRILOGY, and a handful of others. I write stories about everyday kinds of people who find themselves in extraordinary kinds of situations. I tell love stories with happy endings because I believe in making the world a better place, and that’s one tiny way I can make it so. I’m one of those people who still believe in true love and soul mates, and would rather keep my head in the clouds any day over having my feet firmly on the ground.

Cover Reveal #2

Synopsis:
When her head was
screaming “enough,” her hopeful heart continued to whisper “wait
.”
It's the only way
Valerie Zuniga can justify her ongoing addiction to the amazing but ever,
elusive Alex Moreno. Mesmerized by the profound connection neither has
ever quite understood, Valerie  accepts their crazy relationship for what
it is—non-exclusive.
That is until the
incredible highs no longer numb the sting of the intense lows.
As tasteless and
slippery as pride can be, for Alex it's always been the hardest pill to
swallow.
Faced with a final
ultimatum, the choice is a no-brainer for Alex. Despite his insanely busy life
he's determined to prove to Valerie, that not only is he ready to commit, it's
what he's always wanted—to claim Valerie as his exclusively.
But just as it kept
him from admitting his real feelings all those years, will his obstinate pride
once again step in and ruin things just when they're finally getting it right?

***Excerpt***

"Why are you
here?" she demanded.
"I wanna talk to you?" he asked hopefully.
"No," her response was too quick—abrupt. "I'm busy now. Try me
another time."
Okay maybe he deserved that. But he knew she wasn't busy. He knew he had to
convince her to hear him out. Alex was determined to say everything he came
here to say to her tonight. And then he saw it. The movement behind her. His
eyes zeroed in on a guy sitting at her small kitchen table looking equally as
relaxed as Valerie texting something on his phone and there were two glasses of
wine on the table.
Alex took him in for another second from top to bottom as the slow boil inside
him began to bubble. The guy put his phone down then reached for the bottle of
wine and poured them each a little more.
On instinct Alex put his hand on the door in case she even thought of trying to
slam the door on his face. That wasn't happening now. And any hope of this night
ending amicably like he'd been optimistic about was instantly squashed. He
turned to Valerie whose earlier incensed eyes looked a little panicked now.
"Who the fuck is that?"
