*DOES BOOK SHIMMY*

So it's been a while since I've binged shopped. Luckily I got paid a few days ago and was able to buy books that I've read and just NEEDED to buy and haven't read that I also NEEDED to buy.

So with out further ado. Here is my small but precious book haul.

Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover
(Read this one already and oh gosh I fell in love with Daniel on the first page. When I found out there would be a paperback version I knew I need Daniel on my shelf to make my life complete.)

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
(Been hearing and reading fantastic reviews of this beauty so I was dead set on buying this.)

Faking It by Cora Carmack
(This one I read and LOVED. I'll probably be doing a reread of this gorgeous book and write up a worthy review of it.)

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover.
(New book of Colleen's. Honestly, nothing could go wrong with purchasing this gorgeousness of a book. And it come with music. WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE!)

I can assure you, anything Colleen Hoover or Cora Carmack write are worth reading. You can't go wrong with any of there books. I give them nothing but high praises. And I'm hoping Sarah J. Maas become one of my favorites as well.

Waiting On Wednesday:

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights those darn books that have not yet been released, but everyone is eager to get their hands on!

This week, my WoW is...

Title: The Retribution of Mara Dyer

Author: Michelle Hodkin

Publication date: November 4th 2014

Summary:
It had to end sometime, but Mara had no idea it would end like this. Experience the mind-blowing conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Mara Dyer trilogy.

Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story.

Why you should read this beauty:

Well if that short blurb didn't catch your attention then it's probably because you have yet to read the first two books in this series which happen to be phenomenal. And you should read them, they are filled with mysteries and fluffy love and some non-fluffy love. This series has a gorgeous male character (who doesn't love that) and an heroine that is surrounded by secrets that need to be told. Also, the covers are worth staring at.

Title: Girl Lost

Author: Nazarea Andrews

Publication Date: May 1st 2014

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Blurb:
Northern was supposed to be a fresh start—a place where people didn’t know who I was or how I had spent years in and out of mental institutes. People didn't know about my parents death or the island no one heard of. But when Peter sits next to me in lit class, I can’t stop the memories, and I don’t want to. He looks too much like the boy from the island, and despite my best intentions, coaxes my secrets from me.

He’s gorgeous, irresistible, a little mad, and completely lost—we are a pair of broken cogs in a world neither of us truly fits into. And he listens when I talk, about the past and the terrifying future. He is somehow gentle and fierce, heartbreaking in his devotion and savage in his defense.

When Belle, his best friend, shows up, pale and lovely and sick, Peter pulls away from me, a startling withdrawal. It’s a relationship that scares and confuses me. She is at times warm and friendly, and other times is violent and unpredictable.

Peter says that he wants me, but refuses to let himself get close. And there are secrets, surrounding both of us, that border on nightmares. As the memories close in, as Belle gets sicker and more violent, I’m torn between what is true and what I believe, and what this magical boy knows about my mysterious past.

Small Cowls

Well, I know it's no longer winter but that doesn't mean I can't crochet!

So lately I've just been stocking up with my yarn pile and crocheting little projects so that I can get my scrap yarn out of the way. Since I have more scraps than I want and they're pretty much all of the same color, I've been crocheting small cowls. I've made three so far but I know I can make some more. Hey, who knows maybe I can finally learn those stitches I've been wanting to learn for the longest time.

Save The Date By Jenny B. Jones

“He was black and white, while Lucy was vivid Technicolor”

Title: Save The Date

Author: Jenny B. Jones

Published: February 1st 2011

My Rating: 5 GOLDEN STARS

Summary:
When funding for Lucy's non-profit job is pulled, she is determined to find out why. Enter Alex Sinclair, former professional football star and heir to Sinclair Enterprises—the primary donor to Lucy's non-profit organization.

Both Lucy and Alex have something the other desperately wants.

Alex has it all . . . except for the votes he needs to win his bid for Congress. Despite their mutual dislike, Alex makes Lucy a proposition: pose as his fiancée in return for the money she desperately needs. Bound to a man who isn't quite what he seems, Lucy finds her heart—and her future—on the line.

My Review:
“I love it when God takes a big stirring spoon to plans. That’s when life gets good.”
Can that quote be part of my review? Because I feel as of that quote pretty much sums up this story perfectly. I can say nothing but praises for this book. It's romantic, adventurous, agonizing, burst out laughable, witty, sarcastic (who doesn't like sarcastic), and most of all heart warming.  It's everything a book should be.
“Loves me so much she sometimes has a hard time expressing it.”
Lucy is one of those characters that is immediately relatable. Her involvement with her friends, and the care that she has for the women that she takes under her care is endearing. Her passion for her shelter is evident and the lengths that she'll go to keep it open and running is inspirational.
"Give him all your confusion, your worry, you past. And just let it go. D not go one more day living in fear of defeat. We are more than conquerors."
Alex is one of the gorgeous men that are unattainable, until you can get his attention. And that is what Lucy does. Alex has his own reasons for this facade and they are completely valid, to his understands. He can be adamant in letting people into his life, but the about turn that he takes in this lovely book is full of awe.
"I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made."
The two most enjoyable parts of this book would definitely be the witty banter between Lucy and Alex (they really could be mistaken for a married couple) and Lucy's and Alex journey through their faith. However, those AREN'T the only enjoyable parts in this book, the whole book is from its first page of despair, through all the nerd references that there could possibly be, to the ending of peace between all the characters.
"I don't care about the other women, Lucy. Just you, Just like you are."
So read this book, and who knows, this book might change you, I know it has with me.

Seeing Stars By J.Sterling

Sunday, March 16, 2014 1 Comments A + a -

"I shocked her. We're so electric together that we spark."

Title: Seeing Stars

Author: J. Sterling

Published: March 13th 2014

My Rating: 4/5 stars

Summary:

Walker Rhodes is a hot singing sensation who never settles down, spends too much money gambling and gets in trouble on the daily- at least if you believe all the tabloids.

Madison Myers is a hard working talent agent assistant thrust into the spotlight one day after Walker pulls her on stage during one of his concerts. She tries to stay away from him, but he keeps chasing her. She is strong in her resolve and he is relentless in his pursuit. The question is... WHY?!?!

My Review:
"I don't think we ever get over our first love completely."

This book is so heart warming. After the gut wrenching book the was The Perfect Game, i didn'tt know what to expect, and honestly I was a little scared because J. Sterling can deliver a amazing book that is ultimately torturous. But hey NO WORRIES. If you happen to be scared of J. Sterling, this book is like a warm milk to help you rest easy.
"No problem, I planned on waiting all night if I had to."
When I saw how long or rather how short the book was, I was a little worried that the pacing would be too fast and that there was only going to be one main element in this book, like most of the major NA books: sex. Man did this book drown my expectations., and I'm glad for it. This book is set within a couple of days, but you FEEL those days pass and you still understand the characters like you would with a 400 paged book. The pacing and and the subject of the story was so enduring and endearing. Read this book that's all I'm going to say.

"I didn't "think" I loved him. I knew."
The characters are so lovable right off the bat. Walker is the average rock star that is on every tabloid imaginable, and in the beginning you begin to have a sense of douchbagness around this guy, which makes you want to stop reading... STOP RIGHT THERE. If you feel that way please continue on because you WILL end up doing an about turn and end up loving the guy to smithereens. Now, Madison's foundation in this story is revealed to us in the first chapter. Reading this book was sort of like puzzle, one clue led to the whole thing. Yea, the main plot was obvious but the way J. Sterling sets everything up, she has you anticipating for the revelation, so you continue on.
"I've never once forgotten about you. Not completely."
This book is so enjoyable, funny, romantic, and, like I said before, heart warming. So if you're looking for those qualities in a book, grab this one.
Now I'm just wondering when I'm going to go to Malibu to meet the love of my life :-)

Take A Chance By Abbi Glines

"I'm not leaving this time. When you get tired of me, you'll have to force me out."
Title: Take A Chance

Author: Abbi Glines

Published: February 25th 2014

Rating: 3.5/5 stars

Summary:

When Harlow Manning's rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her. Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan's room in nothing but his boxer briefs.

Grant made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He'd known about Nan's reputation, but still he couldn't resist her. Nothing makes him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet Harlow wants nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister even if there are no strings between Grant and Nan. Grant is desperate to redeem himself in Harlow's eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met her?

My Review:

Oh Gosh. Call me tomato face because I was blushing the whole way through. Not because of the "intimacy" going on pretty much in every chapter, but because this couple was just so darn adorable, when they weren't avoiding each other. This book was enjoyable to say the least. I can honestly say that I did an all nighter reading this book. I had been waiting to get paid to buy this book and once I was I bought it right off the back. Now when I bought it it was around midnight, and there I was contemplating whether I could wait a few hours to read it or not. I think you can guess what I chose.  And though I have gone through CUPS of coffee, I'm so glad I did it.
"The world was full of idiots."
Now my favorite part... The characters. All I can say is that I can relate to Harlow on so many levels, including the illness one. Harlow is that one character in a book where the reader can relate to the most, and that's when you know the author put a lot of work into a book, when you feel as if you are the character.
"He brushes her hair."
You've no idea how long I've waited to get into Grant's head. He was my absolute favorite character in Fallen Too Far and every book after that; I was giddy every time he was in a scene. I could get enough of him. And this book. GOSH this book was heaven for me. Grant was such a well developed character that even I fell in love with him even more, which I wouldn't have thought possible. The reasons for his actions were valid. Okay scratch that, MOST of the reasons behind his actions were valid.
"Why should I live like I'm dead?"
This book showed how even though the guy may seem tough from the outside, there is a point to where he is insecure and that best describes Grant and Kiro; honestly, it describes the whole book in general. You'll understand once you read it, which you should. This is one of the best books Abbi has written so far, but that may be biased probably because Grant is just, well, Grant. How can you not love him, even through he has a thick head (pun intended).

The Liberator By Victoria Scott

"Everyone has a past, Dante. Have you let yours go? Are you changed?"
Title: The Liberator

Author: Victoria Scott

Published: August 27th 2013

Rating: 3.5/5 stars

Summary:

Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

My review:

This was not what I expected. From the blurb, I honestly thought I was going to have to kill Dante. THANK YOU VICTORIA, for not making this into an emotional-wrecking love triangle because the way you wrote this was BEUTIFUL.
"You care about people besides yourself. Like, you really care. Not because of how it makes you feel, but because of how it makes them feel."
Aspen was just so badbutt, she is my inspiration so far in this series. Dante had his moments where I LOVED him and where Ijust wanted to shut his mouth. HES ALIVE, I won't say who, BUT THANK YOU VICTORIA because he was my favorite character in the first book. I loved Charlie, she changed for Dante but she new what she was doing felt off and she told him! She told him what she was doing and how it felt and stood for what she believed in. THAT is what every girl should do. THANK YOU VICTORIA.
I'm now done gushing over her characters. You may now move forward.
"If I had a soul, I'd give it to you."
Go read this book, if you liked the first one then read this one because there is a WHOLE lot more to this story than you might expect. There is no harm done in reading this book. Believe me when I say that you'll catch yourself laughing out loud, yelling at the characters, and making weird faces trying to be nonchalant while you read. So go read it. I'll leave you alone now.

HEYO! How's it going?

SO this is my first post, let's see how this goes.

Since it's spring break I decided to start a blog for some odd reason. I can truly say that I'm really excited about this.

Mainly this blog will be about the books I'm reading. Originally, I was going to become a booktuber but since I'm a spazz bashful before a camera I thought that wasn't a good idea. So here I am (where I'll probably be a spazz too).

NOW hopefully I can post every week because I do tend to read at least one book a week and crochet at least one project every two weeks, though everything this still depends on my school work.

Anyways, that's the gist of whats going to be happening on this blog.
Hopefully y'all have a blast here.

Adios mi amigos!

P.S. I am a Christian so after every post, at the very bottom, there will be a different scripture from a chapter of one of the books in the Bible that I feel needs to be shared. I hope you won't be offended.
